We are in the 5 year of Primary Education at CEIP Benjamín Palencia in Albacete, SPAIN. Here we post some activities to do or those activities we have done at School. Our School has an agreement with the British Council, so we have some subjects in English (Literacy, Science, Art,and Maths). The main target of this blog is to share the contents we develop in or school with the families. Also is great motivation for our pupils.

DULCE NAVIDAD
Inventarme una canción
Los profes me han mandao
Que se pueda cantar
Con gracia y con amor
El coco me he
quebrao
Y no me sale na
El cole ha terminao
Ya estamos en Navidad
Mazapán,
mazapán, sidra y champán
Una onza de
Suchard hay que merendar. ¡Hey!
Mazapán,
mazapán, sidra y champán
Una onza de
Suchard hay que merendar. ¡Hey!
No puedo esperar
Al dÍa más genial
Los Reyes Magos traen
Mucha felicidad.
Vamos a cantar
Villancicos sin parar
Bailando la canción
De la dulce Navidad.

UNIT 6 BUSINESS AND MONEY
UNIT 6
BUSINESS AND MONEY
You are going to set up a company/business.
You are going to create and sell a product. It can be real or just a product of
your imagination. Before that you must follow this process:
1. Read pages 86 and 87 about ongoing and variable
costs.
2. Decide what you are going to create.
3. Think and write a list of the ongoing costs for a
year
a.
Rent
b. Utilities
c.
Insurance
d. Salaries
4. Now think and write a list with other variable costs
a.
Materials
b. Shiping costs
c.
Promotional
costs
d. Commissions for sales targets
e.
How
much is your budget (total expenses)
5. Now write a text where you have to describe the
process of creating this company. Things to consider: name of the company, how
many people are involved in the project; where are you going to set the company; how much money are you going to earn; advantages
and disadvantages of running a company.

MY BABY EGG
MY BABY EGG
We are going to be parents. Our little baby is coming.
Are we ready to take care of him or her?
Let’s see:
The main objective (aim) of this activity is to be
aware of the responsibility of being parents. You should realize babies are
defenseless and that their survival depends on an adult, they need someone
whether this person is both father and mother, just one or two mothers or one
or two fathers.
You have to imagine you just had a baby so you have to
plan the following:
-
What´s the child´s name? what do you need to take care
of him/her? What are the roles of the father/mother? Decide when (think about
different turns) to take care of it). REMEMBER: Your child depends completely
on you both, you cannot leave it alone!
-
This activity will last for a week, you must take care
of the egg during the school time, even at the playtime. At the end of the
week, the eggs should not have been broken.
-
You can decorate the egg and prepare a shoe box or
similar as if it was the child´s cot.
-
I will have a set of cards that you must pay attention
to. (RED: the egg is crying, try to calm it down. GREEN: the egg needs to be
changed. ORANGE: the egg is hungry, fee it. YELLOW: the egg needs to sleep,
cover it). This will also happen at the playtime so that the children do not
leave the egg on a bench and go to play and forget about the egg.
During this fantastic experience you will write a
diary or mini book. On the first page you will introduce your baby (name, days
old, where was he/she born, what do you need to take care of it, my role as a
father/mother is, he will be good at … because…), then on the next pages you
can write how was your day, and finally, on the last page you must write about
the main difficulties you have faced during the week and what good things you
have learnt. You will also have to present your work to your classmates.
FINALLY SOME EGGS SURVIVED. OTHERS ... MORE OR LESS
Thank you for taking care of all these little babies during the last week.

CHINESE COSTUME
How to make a easy and cheap chinese costume.
You just need a big yellow garbage bag, a black band around your waist, black cardboard for the hat and chinese letters in black paper for decoration.
Cut out the botton in a triangle shape a bit bigger than your head. Cut out two holes in both sides for your arms. Decorate the bag and hat with chinese letters. Girls can have a chines hairdress with wooden sticks and boys can have a moustache.
